Festivals
We organise attractive festivals to support technical education and to promote innovation and modern technology. The programme of events is intended for the general public and aims to make the latest news from the world of technological innovation accessible to everyone. Admission is traditionally free.
We Innovate Pilsen festival
Smart solutions thrive in Pilsen. According to experts, the West Bohemian metropolis is at the top of the Czech cities in the field of smart city. What’s more, the region is home to many innovative companies whose products and services are definitely worth getting to know. And let’s not forget the institutions that are dedicated to technical education, which has a long and successful tradition in Pilsen.
We wanted to offer a unique day full of technology, interesting contacts and a glimpse into the world of the future to all those interested, especially students who want to combine their education and career in the West Bohemian metropolis. That is why the We Innovate Pilsen festival was launched in 2018. It has developed and grown over the years, and today it targets not only students, but also companies in the region, start-ups, Czech universities, exhibitors, and shows the progress of technology and attractive projects of the future. Since 2022, the Dronfest festival has been a part of it, and the overlap on drones is still present in the We Innovate Pilsen festival. Since 2023, it has been held in the TechTower technology park in Světovar. Today, We Innovate Pilsen festival is the largest technology and innovation festival in the Pilsen region.

Dronfest
Pilsen is known as the city of drones. This has been true since 2014, when we purchased our first drones and became the first city in the Czech Republic to have its own fleet. Dronfest was a unique drone festival that we started organising in 2016. Every year, visitors could expect a programme full of drones – there was a drone fair, FPV flight demonstrations (small racing drones), commented flying demonstrations, interesting lectures on various topics or a programme for the little ones. Visitors and performers from home and abroad flocked to Pilsen for Dronfest. One of the most interesting guests at the festival was, for example, two-time Oscar winner and Emmy Award winner Emmanuel Prévinaire – the world-renowned expert behind the drone shots in Hollywood blockbusters such as Mission: Impossible, James Bond, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones.
Dronfest has been hugely popular with the general public and has gradually grown to a size we perhaps didn’t dare hope for at the beginning – in 2018, it was ranked among the top events of its kind in the world. Since 2022, it has been part of the We Innovate Pilsen festival. In 2024, the festival moved away from FPV competitions, but the overlap with drones is still there.
