Numbeo statistical portal
We enjoy working with data, which is why we joined the world’s largest cost of living and quality of life database in cities. The database collects data directly from the citizens of countries and compares the quality of life in cities around the world. The results show how residents perceive life in a particular city.
Numbeo is a statistical portal that collects data directly from people. It was founded by Mladen Adamovic, who previously worked as a software engineer for Google. Originally, Numbeo was created to compare the cost of living, but now it also includes data on housing, healthcare, quality of transport and crime rates. In total, over 825,000 people in nearly 12,000 cities participated in the statistical survey. Data from 1 320 inhabitants (as of November 2024) were contributed by the Czech Republic.
We participate in the survey on behalf of Plzeň to find out how people live in the West Bohemian capital. How is their satisfaction compared to other Czech and world cities. We also believe that the results can give interesting feedback not only to the citizens of Pilsen, but also to the local government.
Aims of the project:
- to inform the residents of the city about the opportunity to express their opinion on the quality of life in Pilsen,
- increase the return rate of the survey (above the average of regional cities).
Results of the project:
- to put Pilsen in the rankings for comparison with world capitals,
- to allow residents and the city council to compare the quality of life in Pilsen.
The questionnaire can be completed at www.numbeo.com.
