Reconstruction of LAN Networks in Schools
We provide extensive services to the city’s kindergartens and primary schools. We equip them with the appropriate technology and software licences, respond to their needs and modernise their computer networks. In particular, the LAN data networks have undergone significant reconstruction in recent years – in the autumn of 2023, our User Support Department completed network upgrades in primary schools.
The work in the kindergartens is about half way through and the work plan is set until 2026. The project will be evaluated and possibly continued, depending on budget and cooperation with the municipality districts where the kindergartens are located.
Aims of the project:
- To provide services and support to the city managed kindergarten and primary schools.
- To upgrade their LAN data networks.
- To provide schools with faster, higher quality and more secure internet connections.
- To connect school facilities to the city’s fibre optic network.
- To provide access to schools through new RFID chip technology for parents and staff.
- To ensure that schools can also be connected to the city camera system, in cooperation with the city.
Results of the project:
- Stable and secure internet connection in schools.
- High-quality LANs, increasing the possibilities of teaching methods and the integration of modern technologies.
- Central administration thanks to the city’s fibre optic network – e-mail, unified school information system, city cloud, etc.
An overview of the reconstructed networks in 2023 and the plan for the following years can be found at the City of Pilsen’s website.
