Parking payment app
Plzeň is expanding a new way of registering and paying for parking. The ParkSimply Plzeň app is now used not only in the city centre, but in six other parking zones in the city. From 1 November 2021, drivers have been able to use the app to pay parking fees throughout the city without having to wait and, for example, to renew their parking permit from anywhere. To buy a virtual parking ticket electronically, they enter the registration number of the vehicle, i.e. the number plate.
Aims of the project:
- To offer citizens the ability to not only pay, but also to extend the parking period from anywhere without having to physically pick up a ticket from a parking meter.
- To make the service available to all parking zones in the city.
Results of the project:
- You can download the mobile app for free from Google Play or Apple Store.
- The new parking payment app “ParkSimply Plzeň” is user-friendly and intuitive. Simply enter the tag on your mobile device, select the parking period and pay online by your credit card. The next time you use it, the tag will be automatically offered. The app allows you to store multiple tags. The parking time can be extended with a few clicks.
- All tickets or cards purchased electronically are linked to the vehicle’s number plate, thanks to the single registration, for clear control of the parking fee payment. They are now also compatible with motorcycles and scooters, putting an end to the parking ban for their owners, who were unable to comply with the document requirement behind the windscreen.
- In addition, electronic parking permits are environmentally friendly as they do not require paper or plastic forms. In addition to the ability to pay via the app, parking meters will still be available to drivers in the city.
