PlzniTo App
We have launched the PlzniTo app, which allows to report a defect in a public space in a matter of moments. The service has been operating in Pilsen since 2015 and has become very popular among citizens, both in its mobile and web versions. Citizens most often inform the city about black dumps, defects on roads, cycle paths, pavements and traffic signs.
Aims of the project:
To create a channel of communication between the citizens and the city, through which it will be possible to send a complaint about defects in the public space in a simple and quick way. The alert is immediately sent to the person responsible and the problem can be solved in the shortest possible time.
Results of the project:
An app is being created through which citizens can communicate with the city. The PlzniTo app is very easy to use. Just take out your mobile phone, take a picture of the defect and upload it to the app. If the GPS locator is turned on, the app will mark the place where the person is, if not, it will mark it on the map itself. The report is then sent to the city’s contact centre, where it is immediately forwarded to the relevant staff in each office and they start working on fixing the problem.
Of course, this procedure also works on the desktop computers. If someone does not want to download the application, it is not absolutely necessary – they can work on a computer or phone with the plznito.cz web interface. The average time needed to solve the problem is between 11 and 14 days, depending on the complexity of the problem, while the citizen receives feedback on the solution of the problem.
A new version of the application was launched in February 2020. Originally, the PlzniTo app was part of the Plzen – Citizen app. Users of mobile phones with the Android platform did not expect any major changes. After the update, the Plzeň – Citizen app was renamed to PlzniTo. For iOS operating systems, the new standalone version of PlzniTo had to be downloaded from the Apple App Store. Of course, the app can still be downloaded for free.
